At last E3, GameSpy got the chance to play through a demo level from the expansion which had been specially designed to show off some of its new features. They have just posted a preview accounting for their exciting hands-on experience. The expansion will provide more diversity in the environments, a section of it would be set in a church ... and according to Vivendi, it should keep up in suspense for 6-8 hours.
A few dark hallways and one creepy Alma sighting later, we came across a new weapon being added for Extraction Point: the minigun. The next room served as a showcase for the minigun, as the combination of broken glass and mowing down enemy soldiers in midair -- all in glorious slo-mo -- was just pretty to watch in action. We then continued through a ventilation shaft (with weird visual effects and creepy voices spinning us around a few times) to what looked like the underbelly of a water treatment plant, where we were soon attacked by several soldiers from every direction -- patrols below, catwalks above, even some soldiers rappelling in as reinforcements midway through the fight. Once dispatched, there was a small puzzle to put out a fire before moving on to the next area.
The last actual combat of our demo was against a new enemy: the shadow puppets. These near-invisible enemies will remind players of the ninja assassins from F.E.A.R., darting about and generally scaring the bejeezus out of you. Once spotted, they were pretty easy to kill with slo-mo on (Vivendi says they should be a little easier to kill than the assassins), but spotting them was really the hard part; it's easy to imagine players spinning and firing wildly, hoping to hit an enemy that may or may not be there.
Yeah whats up with the length of this game? Also im kinda disappointede because it doesnt seem their bringing any new environments to the game. Am i the only one who thinks these people are too lazy to make some new outdoor textures? Hopefully there will be more then 1 new gun....seriously, it doesnt hurt anyone adding lets say 5 (well it hurts the guys your shooting).
Multiplayer.....IF THEY DONT MAKE A GOOD MULITPLAYER THIS TIME AROUND THERE GONNA HAVE 1 MORE PROBLEM TO WATCH OUT FOR

#2, It isn't exactly easy to add all these things. Jesus Christ, you expect them to click there fingers and they have 20 new guns? 10 Drivable vehicles and 500 new textures? Sure it would be nice but it usually takes months to actually make a nice weapon model, skin / texture it, model it. If they needed to add vehicles they would have to edit the engine which would take a while. The textures wouldn't be too hard but still, give them time...
Actually if it takes someone more then a month to make a model and texture it then you need to Fire that guy cause he's taking way too damn long.
They could easily have added an outdoors area since they aren't writing a new engine or anything, just working off an old one.
Wish I could edit my comments....
Also it does seem they added new textures. It seems they added a ghetto/80s style tile area. possibly a downtown section.
Also it appears in the way of engine they added Geo-mod, or something like it (the video shows a heavy suit busting through a wall) so this could add a COMPLETELY new level of action to the game. Imagine planting explosives on a wall, then rushing through your brand new door at the dazed enemies.
or shooting through a thin wall to kill enemies you hear on the other side.
Or hell, why not an infa-red scoped gun....
