This mod provides for some fast pace run and gun that the original F.E.A.R. lacked in. It comes with some crazy weapons like a grenade launcher, ball launcher, rat launcher, crow magnum, and a lot more. This mod just doesn't stop at adding new weapons, but also adds a variety of new characters to chose from; Solid Snake, Alma, Skaarj, and plenty of others.
The running speed is quite a change in pace. If you like Unreal Tournament or Quake type of run and gun then you are in for a treat, as this mod is aimed in that direction.

Ok so this started out as a little weapons mod and grew to this heap of insanity that you have before you.
Theres probably some bugs here and there (see known bugs section) and there was more slated for this.
But of course due to time constraints and other issues here's what you get......
basically 14 all new guns....
27 player characters to choose from....(technically 23 if yer just counting the new characters)
and a handful of new and revamped maps...
Took about 5 weeks for us to throw this together and quite frankly i've grown tired of it and I am ready to play lol.
Other features include ....
Players now move alot faster than the original fear..gives it more of a quake feel ;)
players can up their health to 250 and their armor to 250....
So without further prattling..... goto the installation section...install this heap...and get to playing !!!
BUT BEFORE YOU PLAY CHECK THE KNOWN BUGS SECTION

A.> open the contents of the Bastard_Mod.rar file (i'm assuming you already did if your reading this ;))
B.> Extract the contents of the Bastard_Mod.rar file into the following directory for F.E.A.R. Combat....
C:\Program Files\Sierra\FEARCombat
For F.E.A.R. Retail users........
C:\Program Files\Sierra\FEAR
c.> You will notice five files.....
An arch file called BM
A Batch File called BM
A Batch File called ServerBM
A Text Filt called Bastard_TDM
And a archcfg file called BM
D.> To run the mod double click the Batch File BM, I suggest you make a shortcut for it and place it on your desktop.
E.> Please have your cd key ready, this mod creates a new user profile and will ask for it before you can join
multiplayer games.
F.> To host a multiplayer game you may do so thru the host options in game or you may use the ServerBM.Bat to host a dedicated
server.
To host a dedicated server you will need to place the Text File Bastard_TDM in the following directory........
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Monolith Productions\FEARCombat\ServerOptions
This is basically a server options file you can select to run the maps found within this mod under TDM conditions.
Feel free to use this server option file as a base to setup your own maps lists etc.
PLEASE NOTE THIS MOD WILL MORE THAN LIKELY CRASH USING THE FEAR STAND ALONE SERVER,
use either the fear retail dedicated server or the fear combat dedicated server as these have been tested to work fine while
the stand alone crashes.

Players Can now carry up to 10 weapons.
Also please note certain gear items have changed also... you can figure it out.
Many other characters were slated for this but again...time constraints and other issues left it at this.
(There is also a new AI in Abomination...you'll have to figure out how to get him triggerred, look for switches...)

4.> MAPS
Ok some of you will recognize these maps and some are new...
nothing spectacular here mostly updated stuff.
1.> Abomination - A revamp of Damnation, contains AI and other junk
you can now play Pac-Man in the arcade.
You can also activate "team helper" AI's by throwing the switches in the lower
portion of the map..then activateing the switch in your teams "prison" area.
2.> Ascension - A rework of the original Halo map complete with bastard guns.
3.> Bastard Arena - a rework of F.E.A.R. Arena, the COOP mode has returned with AI as well
4.> DOA - a very small.... 1vs1 maybe 2vs2 map
5.> invalidgameassets - this was a joke map made long ago....it took maybe 5 minutes to create
and should support a 3 on 3 match
6.> Mega_Polis - This is a big map.... but once you learn it it'll be a breeze
7.> Pain - An oldy but a goody..
8.> Tester - This is the map that contains all the weapons and is just what its named a Tester
9.> Q1DM4 - just a quake 1 map thrown in for fun
10.> FearBall - sigh.... again another map throw in, however now you can kill the players weee?
11.> Infested - a reworked version to include the new weapons...
12.> Island Wars - A Halo universe map
13.> Blood Gulch - nuff said
14.> ORBANUS - A Big wide open map with jump pads and weapons everywhere.
All the maps support all game types 'cept for FearBall,island wars and Pain , they are TDM maps
As far as Additional Content Folder maps, they should work..However we all know and love invalidgameassets
and I dunno...just test em and see.

5.> KNOWN BUGS
1.> when you select a character keep that character unless you die... DO NOT change characters while in game and alive.
causes weapon issues....and sometimes might even crash F.E.A.R.
Keep in mind this mod isn't perfect nor was it intended to be.... it was create in a short amount of cause we were bored..
So if you do find bugs etc... neat stuff...crappy stuff....whatever...
And check the forums for this mod ;)

you have skins for almost every great FPS game character. Except for Joshua Fireseed and Gordon Freeman. I wish some day someone would make a Joshua Fireseed skin for F.E.A.R. That would kick ass
yo so i couldnt get the cd key verification to work so i copy and pasted it from monolith to the bm user folder and now when i try and start the bm it says it cant find fear.exe
How do i get my FEAR game to the same mod as this so i can join the room?

To answer your questions.... #1 you can play the mod with single player if you desire...but ehhh... it was never intended for it. #2 a patch is in the works for more player character models as well as more maps and weapons. #3 i dunno... the read me file sorta explains for you to re-enter your cd key... not copying stuff ;P #4 READ the README, it's posted above on how to install and run this mod. #5 ? wow i dunno, did you follow the instructions as stated in the README file? #6 (see #5) #7 first answer ..no second answer.... no
Im pretty impressed someone finally managed to port Alma as a playable model. Im hoping its the child version. But I think I'll have to pass. Good job porting the Alma model. Maybe if more people figure out how to do it then we might finally get a SP mod where you play her.
